During my time at Cultura Inglesa, I had the opportunity to work on a quick redesign project for the form used by users to register for certification exams such as Cambridge, TOEFL, IELTS, etc. It was a simple web form that needed to be redesigned in a short time to be available to students in time for the enrollment period.
I was warned that there wouldn’t be much room for experimentation or even testing, which is something any Product Designer wouldn’t want to hear. However, we moved on because we don’t always work in an ideal scenario.
The old form had several usability problems and aesthetically it also did not offer a pleasant experience. Stakeholders believed, and rightly so, that small adjustments would make a big difference to the user experience and to the company sales results. So we proposed small adjustments, since we had limited time.
